The water softener by Ace Dynamics is based on the principle of ion exchange in a reversible process. During this reversible process, sodium ions (Na+) replace the Calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions that are present in the hard water. The ions switch places during the water softening as the sodium leaves the resin matrix and enters the water and Calcium and Magnesium move towards the resin or bead matrix. This matrix does not change its physical structure during the whole process as do not participate in the chemical reaction.

The filter feed pump pulls water from the raw water tank and pushes it to the Dual media filter. One column after regeneration goes on standby and continues filtration when the second column switches to regeneration. The system produces softened water with a consistent rate of water flow. The softener columns work in chorus and simultaneously.
Therefore, the polymeric resins in a salt-based water-softening system need to be changed every three to five years as the resins have been used and cannot be revived any further.
